Poo Poo in the Potty!!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine me doing a little song and dance as I say Poo Poo in the potty..because I am! My child made a HUGE advancement towards potty training today. My mother has been working with Grisham for the last month or so on showing him all about the potty. Well he's tinkled on the potty a couple of times, but that's only because she has caught him in the act and immediately runs him to the potty chair. Well today is a totally different story! I went home for lunch and decided to take his diaper off while I was there just to see if I could get him to tinkle on the potty, I never expected there to actually be pee much less poop! I brought the potty chair into the livingroom and showed him it was there and he proceeded to climb all over and take it apart, anything but sit and do his business, so I just left him alone with thinking he was enjoying playing with it..a few minutes later he walked over to me making this weird face with his lips all puckered up and saying..ooohhhh..I thought he hurt himself..then I walk over to the potty where he is leading me and find his oooohhh! He actually pooped on the potty ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!!!!! I was soooo excited I started yelling and clapping, which I think actually freaked him out a bit, until he realized that I thought what he had done was a great thing! I took the potty filled with poop to the toilet and showed him that we flush it, and he was sooo intrested in watching it go down the toilet! I then took the potty and washed it out and put it back together and set it back in the livingroom..well he sat back on it and tinkled! I AM ONE PROUD MOMMA TODAY!!!!! I know we have a ton of work ahead of us on this issue but it just feels so good to know that he's "getting it"

Here's a nice little picture of his deposit!

Just some cute pictures

The box..

I have always heard that a child would rather play with an empty box then with toys. My child is no excpection to the rule. I bought something from overstock.com the other day and it was shipped in this great big box. As soon as Grisham set eyes on it he attacked it! He LOVES boxes!

Long over due update

Wow! So I haven't been here in a while! So much has been going on that I haven't had time to update! I am making it my goal to be a better poster here from now on!

Grisham is now 18 months, and he's so big! I took him for his 18 month check-up last Thursday, and he weighs 29lbs, and his height is 33 inches. The doctor said he's 2 pounds over his weight group and an inch over his height group, but not to look at it as anything bad because the two weigh each other out keeping him from being over weight. He has a mouth full of teeth now too! We are waiting on the last four to come in and we will be done with teeth for a while. He's saying all kinds of words. Right now his favorite word in NO says it to anything..Grisham you want a drink, NO, Grisham you want to play outside NO..he just loves saying NO! LOL! He's favorite thing in the whole world is Elmo! We watch Elmo in Grouchland at least five times a day! The kid can't get enough of it! I know the words to the whole show! He's become quiet the little accomplished climber too. The other day we were outside and he was dying to get up on the tractor. So, I stood beside him to see if he could actually climb up with no problem, well of course he did! We really have to watch that with him, I am sure to find him on the top of the house soon! He also has learned how to open the doors in the house. I am having to keep the front and back doors locked because he can open them..very scary!!! So, all in all he's doing great, growing and learning like normal!

We actually got to squeeze a vacation in this year. We went to Gulf Shores and stayed for a few days. We had a really good time. Grish loved the sand and the water. He did really good with the drive too. I was worried that the long 8 hour drive would be too much on him, but he did really good!

Here's some random pictures of July..
