4 Month check up

Holy cow do I have myself a big boy! Today Grisham had his 4 month check up... he is 17lbs and 5 oz!!!! 26 inches long!!!! BIG KID!!!!!! Dr. Dzurak says he is in the 90 percentile for his age, for both wieght and hieght..so he is growing good. He had to have FIVE SHOTS!!! I almost died when Kevin told me that! My poor baby! I wish I had been there to comfort him, but meemaw and Daddy did a good job.

Dr. Dzurak said that Grisham is actually ahead in his fundamentals. He is rolling over from both, his back to his tummy and from his tummy to his back, and he is sitting up well when we put him in the sitting position, Dr. Dzurak was actually impressed with this, he said that most 6 month old babies aren't even doing as much as he is. So I am quite proud of my little over achiever! only thing is, the more he learns the quicker he grows up. So there's a sad side to having an over achiever.

He is doing good on eating too, Dr. Dzurak said to start trying fruits with him, we have been doing the cereal, although, I really don't think he gets much down him, but the Dr. seems to think it's time to add more things. So we will be trying fruits this month. I hope it goes better than the cereal, he just really isn't into eating, he'd rather have his bottle, which by the way, he is up to 8 oz! He can suck a bottle dry in NO time! I guess we will just have to keep trying until he realizes that food is actually good!

Monday..Memorial Day

We had a great time on Memorial Day. I went to Wal-mart and bought a cheap little kiddie pool for the twins that was big enough for all of us to get in. We set it up on the back deck at our house and stayed in it ALL day! Allie and Baylor really had a good time, and I had a good time watching them play. Grisham didn't really know what to think of the pool, he love his bath time now, but he was a little reluctant with the pool water because it was cold, but after a few minutes he started to like it, I think his favorite part of the entire day was watching Allie and Baylor, they entertain him a lot. I wonder if he thinks about being big like them one day..God help them when he is..they are going to have a run for their money for sure!

Sunday

Sunday, Kevin and I, went to Marshall to have lunch with 4 special people. Cindy and her husband Jimmy, along with their boy/girl twins met us for lunch at Applebee's. We haven't seen each other in almost a year. The last time we saw each other was at our 7.5 week ultra sound at Dr. Le's clinic. It's hard to believe that it had been that long. We had a really good time catching up and enjoying each other's babies..Emmerson and Ryan are such sweathearts. Very, very cute! I don't think Cindy realized what a blessing it was for me to meet her little miracles. (Thanks Cindy) I look forward to seeing them again..

Saturday

We had a lot going on this weekend.. We went to the annual Mudbug Festival on Saturday. We had a good time but it was VERY hot..Grisham didn't go. We decided that it was a little much for a 4 month old, so he stayed with Sherri. My sister, Carla and her husband Gregg, and Christian my niece and her boyfriend Chad all came in from Gause Tx., to enjoy the festival too. We had a good time visting and listening to the bands and eating crawfish!.

4 months today

Grisham at 4 months

I can remember having 4 months left of my pregnancy and thinking that it was dragging by. Since Grisham's arrival, it feels as if things have hit the high gear and time is speeding by. Today Grisham turns 4 months old. I can't believe he has been with us for 4 months. I can't imagine my life without him now. He is the best little gift I have ever waited for. I sit and rock, him not wanting to put him down once he falls asleep, I just want to continue to hold him forever. I can't help but want to keep him little. I worked so very hard to get him here and I love being able to hold him and cuddle him. I have always heard the saying "You never know what love is until you have a child" and this is so true. I mean, I have love for Kevin and for my family, but this love that I feel for my child is the type of love that hurts, the type of love that you feel very protective of. I am so glad that I have been given the chance, after all these years of infertility, to be a mother to this wonderful little boy. Thank you God..

I have always thought since Grisham was born, that he was deserving of a magazine cover. I mean, who doesn't want their child to be on the cover of a great magazine..I stumbled onto a site that allowed me to put his cute little face right on the cover of LIFE magazine! TOO CUTE! Though it may not be a real magazine, it was fun to create. He's got the face for fame, don't ya think??

May

Well, May is just about gone. I can't believe how time has flown by. I keep wanting to put the brakes on and slow things down just a tad. Grisham is getting so big and wanting to do more, I find myself cheering him on, but also becoming a little sad as he master each little step to becoming a "big" kid. He loves to play with the toys on his walker. He hasn't figured out how to move it yet, but he has mastered the toys!




My sister and I took the kids to the boardwalk on Saturday and we got some cute pictures. Of course with two three year olds and one 4 month old, the day slowly turned to mud! They get tired out pretty easy. We had fun while it lasted!

Well I decided since everyone I know has a blog that I would start one too! Yes, I am a copycat, for sure. I just love the idea of sharing our day to day lives with the people that mean so much to me that aren't able to be with me every day.
